The Sun and the Wedding Party

As the wedding party, along with the bride and groom, were crossing Mount Kapas in Varanda, the sun began to set. The groom begged the sun to wait a while until they passed through that dangerous terrain. The sun granted the groom’s request, but when it returned to its mother, the Sun-Mother was furious at her son for being late. The sun revealed the reason for the delay. The mother grew even angrier and cursed the wedding party, decreeing that they be turned into stone. They instantly turned to stone.
