The Moon
Traces of dough on the moon’s face
The Moon was once an impatient child. One day, while his mother was kneading dough, he came to her crying, asking for bread. Angered, the mother slapped the child with her dough-covered hand, cursing him never to be satiated. From the blow, he flew up into the sky and became the Moon, with pieces of dough still clinging to his face. When the Moon is full and satisfied, he shines brightly in the sky; when he hungers, he fades into darkness.
