A home that tells a literary story
This house-museum occupies the Yerevan apartment where Derenik Demirchyan lived from 1929 until his death in 1956. Opened in 1977, it is a branch of the Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art.
Memorial rooms and an exhibition hall bring the writer’s creative life closer through personal belongings and documentary material. One particularly revealing object is his violin: it introduces a musical dimension to the world of a man best known for his prose and plays. The intimate domestic setting invites visitors to encounter the person behind the books.
